An inmate can apply to have medication sent in by themselves. After approval, their relatives or friends can bring their identification documents to the prison and fill out a declaration form before sending the medication. However, the medication must meet the following requirements and include a prescription or a detailed list of medication issued by a medical institution:

  1. The medication must be prescribed by a doctor for the inmate before they were admitted to the prison, and it should be within the validity period of the prescription.
  2. The medication must have identifiable and complete original packaging and be enclosed in a complete medication bag.
  3. If the medication is prescribed for a chronic illness, it can be applied for within three months of being admitted to the prison. Any medication obtained before being admitted to the prison cannot be sent in if it has been more than two weeks since the inmate's admission.
