2026/05/29 Senior Citizens' Plan - Health Promotion and Nutrition Education Group Course SeminarOn May 29th, the prison held a health promotion and nutrition education seminar, inviting a nutritionist from Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to provide inmates with an understanding of basic nutrition and healthy eating concepts. Inmates from Renshe inmates participated, with a total of 83 inmates in attendance. The activity aimed to strengthen inmates' health awareness, increase their self-health management abilities, and support their adjustment to life after reintegration into society.

2026/05/25 A Visit by the Teachers and Students of Keelung Senior High SchoolTo enhance students' understanding of Taiwan's correctional system, inmate treatment, and skills training, 36 students and teachers from National Keelung High School visited Keelung Prison on May 25th. Through guided tours and on-site explanations, they learned about the daily operations of a typical prison and the connection between vocational training and social reintegration. Keelung Prison opened its doors, leading the high school students and teachers into a real prison environment. The aim was to prevent them from breaking the law and ending up in prison, hoping to show society what prisons are doing and to allow young people to learn from real stories, making them more vigilant and resilient when facing temptations in the future. It is also hoped that such openness and dialogue will not only help the younger generation choose the right path but also bring about a longer-term positive cycle in society.

2026/05/20 Inmate Recreation Activities: Table Tennis Doubles TournamentOn May 20th, the prison held a table tennis doubles tournament, with 16 inmates in 8 teams participating enthusiastically. The activity aimed to promote healthy leisure and recreation among inmates, foster physical and mental well-being, cultivate team spirit and a sense of honor, and promote competition and ambition, ultimately achieving educational goals. The tournament adopted a single-elimination format, with participants demonstrating excellent coordination and focus. The atmosphere was lively, energetic, and fun. Ultimately, Xiaoshe inmates emerged victorious, winning first place, and the event concluded successfully.

2026/05/08 Mother's Day Face-to-Face CallsTo facilitate reunions between inmates and their families, Keelung Prison held a special Mother's Day face-to-face call event on May 8th, 2026. This event combined anti-fraud awareness campaigns with anti-drug education conducted by the Keelung City Drug Harm Center. It also included skills training and an arts and cultural exhibition showcasing the inmates' learning achievements and growth within the prison. Families could see firsthand the inmates' learning progress and transformation, and enjoy homemade cookies made by a baking class, which were highly praised by the families present. The Keelung District Christian Rehabilitation Fellowship also donated carnations, allowing inmates to convey gratitude and love, creating a warm and touching scene. A total of 47 inmates and 87 family members participated in the event.

2026/05/07 Mother's Day Phone CallTo allow inmates to express their care and longing for their families on the eve of Mother's Day and strengthen family bonds, Keelung Prison, with the assistance of Chunghwa Telecom Keelung Operations Office, set up 32 free dialing lines for the "2026 Inmate Mother's Day Phone Call Event" on May 7th, 2026. A total of 268 inmates made calls to express their love and longing for their families.
