To enhance students' understanding of Taiwan's correctional system, inmate treatment, and skills training, 36 students and teachers from National Keelung High School visited Keelung Prison on May 25th. Through guided tours and on-site explanations, they learned about the daily operations of a typical prison and the connection between vocational training and social reintegration.
Keelung Prison opened its doors, leading the high school students and teachers into a real prison environment. The aim was to prevent them from breaking the law and ending up in prison, hoping to show society what prisons are doing and to allow young people to learn from real stories, making them more vigilant and resilient when facing temptations in the future. It is also hoped that such openness and dialogue will not only help the younger generation choose the right path but also bring about a longer-term positive cycle in society.
