Youth vocational training

Young people are an important resource and an asset to the nation. Harnessing the opportunities afforded by industrial transformation in support of youth employment, the government is offering diverse vocational training to facilitate workforce upskilling, and providing training and expanding collaboration with industry to provide lifelong learning resources that are aligned with the job market. Furthermore, to ensure that young people are provided with opportunities for continuous learning throughout their careers, the government will partner with the private sector to ensure that the training of young talent keeps abreast of the latest industry developments. These public-private partnerships will allow young people to develop specialist knowledge and skills, placing them at the forefront of industrial development trends and cultivating a new generation of pioneering innovators.

Diverse vocational training, enhanced employability

Industry-academia cooperation (for students): Facilitate school-based early vocational training, which by integrating the educational system with industry-developed practical training will help increase students' knowledge of industry and enhance their practical skills for a seamless transition into the workplace.

Diverse vocational training (for unemployed youth): Encourage businesses to provide new hires with on-the-job training, launch youth vocational training classes, subsidize youth enrollment in industrial innovation courses and provide a range of pre-employment training for unemployed young people.

On-the-job training (for employed youth): Strengthen workforce quality and industrial competitiveness, including by providing a range of practically-oriented educational courses and encouraging businesses to provide training according to their operational and developmental needs, and as a means to fill skills shortages.

Skills competitions: Develop role models and encourage a societal appreciation for technical skills by holding domestic competitions, promoting participation in international skills competitions, rewarding competition winners and guaranteeing their career development.

Improved vocational school environments: Promote the vocational components of the Higher Education SPROUT (Sustained Progress and Rise of Universities in Taiwan) Project to continue improving educational facilities and cultivate high-quality skilled labor and technicians suitable for employment in both domestic and overseas industries.
